Educator Programs
Educator programs serve classroom teachers, art educators, preservice educators, teaching artists, museum educators, schools and districts, universities, museums, libraries, and community organizations.
Sessions are participatory. Educators take part in close looking, inquiry, conversation, reflection, collaborative learning, and artmaking, so that the strategies they leave with are ones they have practised themselves.
Topics include museum-based teaching, visual literacy, culturally responsive pedagogy, arts integration, curriculum development, and inclusive art education.

Facilitating Conversations About Works of Art
Educators practise open-ended questioning, facilitated discussion, and building interpretation from visual evidence, then consider how to structure these conversations with their own students.

Observation, Evidence & Interpretation
A working session on sustained observation: what close looking asks of learners, how to give them time and language for it, and how interpretation is grounded in what can actually be seen.

Meaningful Arts Integration
Moves beyond decorative projects to authentic connections between works of art and literacy, social studies, science, mathematics, and social-emotional learning, with time to plan against real units.

Multiple Perspectives in the Classroom
Considers how artists, collections, and conversations can hold multiple perspectives, and how learners’ knowledge, culture, and experience become part of interpretation rather than an aside to it.

Multiple Entry Points for Diverse Learners
Practical strategies for multimodal engagement, varied communication and learning styles, and accessible participation, so that learners with diverse abilities and learning needs can take part fully.

Designing Meaningful Art Experiences
Educators work through the full arc — from a work of art, to inquiry, to a studio experience — and leave with a program or lesson sequence of their own in draft.
Sessions developed with a school, district, museum, library, or university around its own goals, curriculum, and audiences.
Ongoing support for new and experienced educators on program design, inquiry-based teaching, and arts integration.
